Injury report for Week 4: 26 out, 14 doubtful, 129 questionable across 15 games

From the archive. This item is no longer current; the numbers below are as they stood when it was written.

Most affected: Jets at Bears (9 out or doubtful), Rams at Eagles (6 out or doubtful), Steelers at Browns (5 out or doubtful). Out at key spots: Xavier Legette (CAR, WR), Anthony Johnson Jr. (CHI, S), Braxton Jones (CHI, OT), Caleb Williams (CHI, QB), Noah Sewell (CHI, LB), Colbie Young (CIN, WR), Tylan Wallace (CLE, WR), Cobie Durant (DAL, CB), Micah Parsons (GB, DE), Azeez Al-Shaair (HOU, LB). Every game page carries the full list for both teams.

Statuses are ESPN's, refreshed every three hours. Out and doubtful players are treated as unavailable; questionable players usually play (league-wide, roughly two in three). Only the quarterback feeds the model directly, through the Elo adjustment; everything else is priced by the market, which is one reason The System weights the market three to one.

A backup at a skill position moves a spread by a point or less; a starting quarterback moves it by three to seven. Compare a game's injury list with its line movement to see what the market has already absorbed.
