Week 2: the lock and the bold call are frozen

Our two picks for the week are set and will not change. The lock is the game Elo and the market agree on most (84% over 24 seasons); the bold call is where they disagree most. Signed-in players can see both.

Both are chosen by rule, not opinion, before the week's first kickoff, once at least half the games have a market line. The lock rule went 379–71 over 24 seasons against an 80% forecast; the bold call went 217–233 while Elo claimed 62%, which is why it is shown as the contrarian view. Neither changes after it freezes, and each keeps a public season record.
